iPod Touch 4th Generation Review

[Thanks for visiting EnPap :]

iPod Touch review (4th Generation)
Apple‘s claimed “most popular iPod” boasts to be an all-in-one box but more of a gaming machine (as Apple claimed it beats out combine Nintendo’s and Sony’s offerings in sales) was now down to its 4th generation –the iPod Touch. It takes the shadow of the iPhone’s rocketing career in the smartphone category, with almost same hardware less the phone functionality. The rich App Store has made the Touch an incredible iPod, internet device, game console and whole lot of more. It almost takes all the iPhone 4 updates with iPod touch now includes new Retina Display, the A4 CPU, two cameras which allow for FaceTime calling and 720p video recording, and all the new features of the company’s latest mobile operating system, iOS 4.1. If you think you can’t decide if the new iPod Touch is worth your hardly-earned money, read on the reviews after the break.
PCmag Review

Pros
Still a top-notch music player. Retina display makes text and images look incredibly sharp. Shoots HD video, takes photos. Front-facing camera for FaceTime video chat. Slimmer, narrower design. GameCenter allows social gaming with other iOS devices.
Cons
Quite expensive. Limited storage. Lousy earbuds.
Bottom Line
The already superb iPod touch gets its most significant update in years, adding photo and video capture, along with FaceTime video chat and an ultra-high-res display.
Pro. Adds front and rear cameras, FaceTime video, HD video recording and iPhone-like display. Even thinner than prior generations. Runs most iPhone apps, including some that would let you make phone calls.
Con. No flash on camera, and camera isn’t as good as iPhone’s. No GPS.
The good: The fourth generation of Apple’s iPod Touch offers nothing but improvements, including an HD camcorder, front-facing camera, integrated microphone, FaceTime video calling, Retina Display, gyroscope sensor, and a slimmer, lighter design.
The bad: Photo quality doesn’t hold up to the iPhone 4′s; there’s no GPS, and no option for 3G data service.
The bottom line: The iPod Touch is the best iPod yet, offering all the fun of the iPhone experience without a carrier contract or monthly bill.
Finally, the iPod touch, and if ever there was a device to overshadow the iPhone 4, this is it. It’s tough to imagine Apple being able to shave anything more from the touch, and a brief hands-on with the PMP is enough to convince most that the Apple premium is worth it. $229 for the 8GB model is a step up from the iPod nano, true, but you’re getting a whole lot more potential for your money. Apple’s new $0.99 TV shows come into their own on the 3.5-inch Retina Display, which is perfectly proportioned for making the most of commutes, lunch hours or time in-between lectures, or of course there’s the A4 processor to drive high-resolution games from the App Store.
Reading through this review, it should be clear that there isn’t actually a whole lot to say about this device that hasn’t already been said. The new touch isn’t magical or revolutionary, or even unfamiliar. What it is, however, is a product without a peer; a media player that does far more than media playing. Besides the smaller screen real estate, the touch might be better compared to a tablet or netbook — it has many of the same functions (more, in some cases). So you’re not just dropping $229 (8GB), $299 (32GB), or $399 (64GB, also, ouch) on a music and video player — you’re buying into a mini-computer, a video camera, and a game system all with a massive ecosystem.
If you’re already carrying around a smartphone with the above functions, maybe the iPod touch doesn’t make sense, but for the legions of buyers out there who have yet to make the jump (or are stuck with an outdated handset), this device’s appeal is hard to deny. Don’t get us wrong, the touch isn’t without faults — the lack of GPS and a fairly low-quality still camera come to mind — but there’s nothing major here that gives us pause (and frankly, nothing else like it on the market). With the addition of HD video shooting, the new Retina Display, and a faster A4 processor, the touch has just gone from “nice to have” to nearly irresistible.

Playstation 4 and Xbox 720 Review

[Thanks for visiting EnPap :]

Recently,  reports surfaced suggesting Sony would be launching the PlayStation 4 next year that production should start later this year. You can take this with a grain of salt immediately, as the PlayStation 3 wasn’t matured enough to take its next successor. But we like the idea that PS4 will hit early next year. If the production will go on course like the Xbox 720, maybe it’s a good thing to think what will be the next design for both console. Looking at Tai Chiem concept, we think you’ll love what you’ll see after the break.

iPhone 5 Bigger 4-inch Display fot Sport

iPhone 5
Rumor mills like what we have seen before for the next iteration of iPhone, this time with iPhone 5. There’s no official sense if Apple will follow the numbering moniker of iPhone 4 and goes on with iPhone 5, but earlier we learned that the handset is reported to feature 8MP camera,  next generation A5 processor and Qualcomm chipset that will unify the CDMA / GSM / UMTS radios and NFC integration that will boast “universal SIM”, not enough? And how about 4-inch larger screen?
In a report by Engadget, WSJ and Bloomberg the two sources claims accordingly with their sources that the iPhone 5 will be lighter and will feature larger 4-inch screen.
“Well, if DigiTimes and its chatty “upstream component suppliers” are to be believed then the next generation iPhone will be sporting a 4-inch display. While DigiTimes can, at times, be a suspect source for Apple information, the idea of a larger 4-inch iPhone flagship to help differentiate itself from a smaller iPhone nano and legacy iPhone 4 (that becomes the budget model) does make some sense.”
Now we almost forget, how about the iPhone Nano reported earlier or this very cool unthinkable and unimaginable iPhone 5G?

Google announces Motorola Mobility as its next acquisition

[Thanks for visiting EnPap :]

Is this a sign that we will see Android-based Motorola handsets? Let’s see, after coming from a $56 million dollar deficit during the second quarter of the year, this news seems to bring smiles to Motorola as Google is eyeing the company to become its next dedicated Android partner. Now this answer the question posted earlier. Through this acquisition, Motorola will help Google to “supercharge the Android ecosystem” and “enhance competition in mobile computing.”
After taking the seat as CEO for Big G in April, this is seen as Larry Page’s boldest move and this is what he says regarding the acquisiton:
Motorola Mobility’s total commitment to Android has created a natural fit for our two companies. Together, we will create amazing user experiences that supercharge the entire Android ecosystem for the benefit of consumers, partners and developers. I look forward to welcoming Motorolans to our family of Googlers.
It was not that long ago that Motorola was split into two. There is Motorola Solutions, the “blue M” that caters and sells gears to corporate and government clients. And then there’s Motorola Mobility, the “red M”, that covers the mobile phone market and sells other stuff like TV set top boxes. So what pushed Google to do the purchase — Patent Portfolio. Compared to the likes of Microsoft and Apple, Google really needs to build one. While they may have a definitely growing Android market, they can still receive blows through IP attacks, to quote Jim Tierney, W.P. Stewart Advisors Chief Investment Officer:
“No matter how you think about this, you have to look at it through the spectrum of the Android ecosystem under incredible attack from an IP (intellectual property) perspective. And this is Google going out and trying to fix that.”
So what does this essentially mean? We’ll definitely have Motorola Android phones though Google will still offer the mobile OS as an open platform. This also means more competition to the many manufacturers of Android phones like Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG and HTC among others.

[Thanks for visiting EnPap :]

Who says that playing under the rain wasn’t fun especially if you have this very cool umbrella that doubles up for a very entertaining water gun that obviously getting its water bullets directly from the raindrops. How cool is that? As long as there are raindrops you’ll have the the gun power to hit anyone. How it works, when raindrops pour into the umbrella’s sunken tip that funnels the water in the water gun that was designed to be the handle too. Now, could anyone bring this concept into production? We want one!

Apple "Space-Ship" Campus

[Thanks for visiting EnPap :]

This time it includes Apple’s proposal documents that contains Introduction, Site Plan & Landscaping, Floor Plans and Renderings. Though we don’t see “iBuilding” specifically highlighted on the documents, the project details were very interesting –just after the cut.

Project Details:

• An Office, Research and Development Building comprising approximately 2.8 million square feet;
• A 1,000 seat Corporate Auditorium;
• A Corporate Fitness Center;
• Research Facilities comprising approximately 300,000 square feet;
• A Central Plant; and
• Associated Parking.

According to Steve Jobs:

It’s a pretty amazing building. It’s a little like a spaceship landed. It’s got this gorgeous courtyard in the middle… It’s a circle. It’s curved all the way around. If you build things, this is not the cheapest way to build something. There is not a straight piece of glass in this building. It’s all curved. We’ve used our experience making retail buildings all over the world now, and we know how to make the biggest pieces of glass in the world for architectural use. And, we want to make the glass specifically for this building here. We can make it curve all the way around the building… It’s pretty cool.
And it looks like we’ll have a walk-in tour on this spaceship by 2015, as the City of Cupertino revealed they were certain to approve Apple’s proposal. The official home of fanboys!

“The International is the first public Dota 2 event and will give the tens of millions of gamers playing Dota around the world their first look at the new game,” said Gabe Newell, president and founder of Valve. “I have had the good fortune to watch the competitors as they prepare for the tournament, and the level of play is extraordinary.”
